8th edition of the Phantoms would start out on a positive note.  But every now and then, life throws out a curve.   During
what would become most of the season, the Phantoms would experience roster shortages and league fee issues that
would cast a rather difficult spin on the season.  Nonetheless, the Phantoms overcame these issues, and with only 6-7
skaters per game, the team climbed into the post-season for its sixth straight season and its 7th in the 8 season history of
As the Phantoms continue to create a team that shows the same energy and skill that it has over the past 7 seasons, the
the team.  During the post-season, the team would face-off against Maly's and while the shortened bench would play
toe-to-toe with the blue-shirts, Maly's would capitalize on two defensive break-downs late in the game to climb above the
Phantoms and capture the victory.  High-lights of the season would have to be a tremendous 3-1 victory over the Stick
Heads about mid-way into the season and in the final week it would be known that this victory would keep the play-off hunt
in the Phantom's hands.  Add another huge victory over the Rage in Overtime during the final game of the season, and the
post-season tradition would continue.  Out of the 8 team Copper alliance, the Phantoms would finish 3rd in the league in
scoring (58 regular season goals) and tied for 3rd with the best defensive record, with 43 goals against during the regular
season.  Those numbers reflect a complete turnaround the team made, as during the first few weeks the Phantoms were
near last in every category.
